FIAT logo

The Fiat Freemont was a car produced by the Italian car manufacturer Fiat in collaboration with the American car manufacturer Dodge.
The Freemont was marketed primarily in Europe between 2011 and 2016, and was one of Fiat's first forays into the large crossover vehicle market.
Here is a brief history of the Fiat Freemont: Collaboration announcement: In 2009, Fiat and Chrysler (of which Dodge is a division) entered into a strategic partnership following the financial crisis that hit the American auto industry.
This partnership allowed Fiat to enter the American market and Chrysler to have access to European technologies and vehicle platforms.
Dodge Journey Launched: The Dodge Journey was a crossover SUV produced by Dodge and was the basis on which the Fiat Freemont was built.
The Journey was launched in 2008 in the United States and became the starting point for the Freemont.
Debut of the Fiat Freemont: The Fiat Freemont was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011.
It was basically a rebadged version of the Dodge Journey, with some cosmetic changes to adapt it to the Fiat brand.
Description: The Freemont was available with several engine options, including diesel and petrol engines.
It offered room for seven passengers with three rows of seats, making it a popular choice for families.
Restyling: In 2014, the Fiat Freemont underwent a restyling which led to aesthetic and technological improvements, including a new infotainment system.
End of production: Production of the Fiat Freemont was discontinued in 2016.
Although it had been a popular car in some markets, the decision to end production may have been influenced by changes in Fiat-Chrysler's strategies and the growing demand for more compact SUVs.
In essence, the Fiat Freemont was a crossover SUV based on the Dodge Journey, produced as part of the collaboration between Fiat and Chrysler.
It offered space and versatility for families, but its production was discontinued in 2016.
